It’s been awhile since I last posted a blog. This was partly due to the fact that May 3rd 2010 we lost our beloved Tobin James (who belonged to my brother’s family). About a month later our precious Indiana Jones (who belonged to my husband & I). I wondered if losing his best pal was just too much for him. Even though we knew they didn’t have much time left it didn’t make it any easier. Both our boys were so much a part of our everyday lives and there was a huge gaping hole left. I tried to write up a memorial page for them but the loss was just too fresh and the family had to take some time to grieve.
Sage my Mom’s golden girl was also deeply mourning her boys. Even though they were older than her, she had asumed the alpha female position over them ever since we brought her home as a pup. The boys always bowed to her will and never tried to bully her back. They would both look at us as if to say “Well you know, she’s the boss”!
In August we decided that we were ready to add to our family again and so my husband and I got a baby boy Golden Retriever (Zebedee) and my brother’s family baby boy & girl Golden Retrievers (Jordy & Bella, who are also brother & sister). Quite a handfull and then some, alas another reason I didn’t get back to the blog! We all lost quite a bit of sleep in the beginning and had some frayed nerves but they have all settled into the family quite nicely. Sage at first wanted nothing to do with them & acted like they had the plague but eventually she took to the mothering role and is again the reigning alpha female of the pack!
